Now after deciding your best prom dress design, it’s time to move forward for our Finding the Best Prom Dress journey. It is time to choose what color of prom dresses you should wear. Mmm, is that important?
Well, Y.E.S! Actually there is no
rules for choosing your prom dresses colors. As far as you feel confident and
comfortable wearing this or that color, go ahead with your choice. But! A right
color for your prom dresses will give you hundred times more adorable look. Who
doesn’t want to be under the spotlight on prom night?
So, in our journey to be the most
beautiful queen of prom night (I hope, it doesn’t sound too much, lol), now let’s
talk about how to find the best prom dresses colors for us. If you are noob
about this, then you come to the right room. I’d like to give you little tips how
to decide the best color for our prom dress and, of course, some adorable
inspiring dresses from 27 dress UK.
Should we start now?
Firstly, know your skin tone. Is
that light, medium, dark or even olive? Each color will look different on
different skin tone. The secret is find the best color that flatter your skin
tone because, as we probably know, dressing well is about the color hues you
pick. The color you wear should be flattering and matching to your skin tone.
So, what color for what skin
tone?
Dark Skin Tone
For dark skinned girls, colors on
the warm end of the spectrum will be great. Warmer colors will point out the warmness
in your skin tone. Other color variants you could try, such as pastels,
brighter colors or deeper tones. Otherwise, the cool tone colors won’t be flatter
on the dark skinned girls. Also, it is better for dark skin tone to stay away
from browns and black color as they are too close to the skin tone.
Suggested colors : any shade of purple (light purple to royal purple), pastel
pink, soft or bright yellow, gold, bronze.

Medium Skin Tone
For you who have medium skin
tone, be careful from orange, browns, caramel and very pale pastels colors.
Colors in cool tone and light hues will be too cool against your complexion and
tend to create gray undertones as well. That’s a big NO. For medium skinned
girls, you could try deeper hues and jewel tones which look more stand out on
your skin.
Suggested colors : deep navy, royal blue, deep
pink, raspberry pink, red, deep purple.
Olive Skin Tone
If you have olive skin tone,
well, lucky you. It is because practically girls with olive skin tone can pull
off any color nicely. However, choose colors that will flatter your undertones,
which are, mostly, yellow and brown undertones. You could try any pink, red,
orange or even green shades to give your skin very nice glow.
Suggested colors : bright pink, emerald green,
bright red, burgundy.
Light Skin Tone (Fair Skin)
If you are in Fair Skin team, you
had better know your skin undertone. If you have warm to peachy undertone, you
can choose earth-tones long prom dresses to
flatter your warm undertones. You may stay away from very bright and neon
colors, and any kind of very pale colors as well. On the other side, if you
have fair skin with cool undertone, choose colors that give nice contrast to
your skin. Berry shades could be an awesome choice. You could also pick gold,
but stay away from sliver.
Suggested colors : olive green, , brown, ivory,
navy, gray (for warm and peachy
undertones), deep red, raspberry pink, deep purple and gold (for cool undertone).
